Every child deserves to feel safe, seen and supported.
Through Rookie Rockstars Wellbeing and Support, we provide compassionate help for children, young people and families who are finding life overwhelming.
Our approach is trauma‑informed, neurodiversity-informed, relational and creative-offering a safe space where emotions can be explored, confidence can grow, and families feel genuinely supported.
Around 4000 children in Scotland are waiting for mental health support at any given time. In December 2025 alone, CAMHS received 8,841 referrals.
Referrals are rising faster than capacity.*
Our communities need a unified approach where we seek solutions, not blame. We all know the saying “It takes a village to raise a child.”
Through our wellbeing and support services, we aim to bring back the village. (*publichealthscotland.scot)
Wellbeing & Support is a growing department within Rookie Rockstars, designed to sit alongside our music schools across the country.
We are currently launching our first Wellbeing and Support Centre and our long‑term vision is that every community with a Rookie Rockstars music school will have access to a dedicated Wellbeing and Support Centre offering support for children, young people and families.

Flexible Support For Schools

Every school is different, and so are the needs of their pupils and families. We offer flexible, tailored programmes that can be shaped around the rhythm, culture, ethos and priorities of each school.
Our most effective model combines:
• A Counsellor providing play‑based therapeutic support
• A Home School Partner offering relational, practical and whole‑family support
Together, they create a consistent wellbeing presence across the week – supporting pupils, strengthening relationships with families, and reducing barriers to learning.
This model aligns naturally with GIRFEC and the SHANARRI wellbeing indicators, supporting multi‑agency working and early intervention.
In addition, our trained wellbeing volunteers enhance the support we provide, adding further flexibility and value to our school wellbeing programmes.
Children do not exist in isolation, they are part of a family system.
Our Home School Partner role is designed to honour that reality.
This role blends:
• Attendance monitoring and early intervention
• Reducing barriers to learning
• Strengthening relationships between school and home
• Supporting parents and carers in a holistic, non‑judgemental way
• Helping families navigate challenges that impact school life
By working relationally with the whole family, we create the conditions for lasting change, not short‑term fixes.
Our counsellors and wellbeing staff provide:
• Play‑based counselling
• Creative therapeutic approaches
• Small‑group wellbeing sessions
• Emotional literacy and resilience groups
• Tailored programmes designed with the school
This combination offers consistent, safe and available emotional support for children who need it, while offering flexibility to enhance the school’s existing supports and school partnerships.
Our staff are open to new ideas and are committed to working collaboratively with schools and partner agencies.
A Fresh Approach To Community Wellbeing
We believe schools and communities thrive when wellbeing is woven into everyday life. We value compassion, creativity and connection.
We believe wellbeing is not an add‑on, but a core part of helping children, families and communities thrive.
Our approach is:
• Person‑centred
• Trauma‑informed
• Neurodiversity informed
• Family‑focused
• Creative and relational
• Research-based
• Grounded in dignity, safety and hope
We are committed to building environments where children of all abilities can learn, grow and flourish, supported by adults who understand the power of connection.
As we expand across Scotland, our goal remains simple:
To create spaces where families, children and young people feel supported and empowered, and where communities feel stronger.
Wellbeing and Support Centres
Our Wellbeing and Support Centres are a fresh approach to community wellbeing designed to be safe, welcoming spaces where families, children and young people can access support, connection and community.
We believe schools and communities thrive when wellbeing is woven into everyday life.
